School’s Mission and Vision:
Our school is a non-profitable kindergarten under Sheng Kung Hui. Base on the spirit of Christ, we determine to create a school which glorifies God and benefits people. The kindergarten provides comprehensive and quality education service for three to six years old children and their parents. Also, we devote to develop the spirit of continuous learning and new direction of quality education with the school motto of ‘Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.’(Proverbs 22:6).
Idea of School Curriculum:
The school curriculum is designed base on the “Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide 2017” by the Education Bureau in order to achieve the principle of comprehensive and balanced development of children. It aims to help children achieve five developmental objectives, including “Moral Development”, “Cognitive and Language Development”, “Physical Development”, “Affective and Social Development”, and “Aesthetic Development”, reflecting the all-round development in the domains of ethics, intellect, physique, social and aesthetics. It is to implement different teaching activities, focus on providing teaching environment and create a lively atmosphere. Let the children acquire knowledge, skills, cultivate positive attitude and emotion development through active contact with different people, things, ideas, etc. Also to provide holistic education and open up children’s unique potential, laying the foundation for future exploration for knowledge.
The idea of school curriculum aims to value children’s learning activities with a clear goal to foster children’s problem-solving skills. The school also targets to promote the direction of cooperative learning, promotes children’s creativity and get the opportunity of learning effectiveness.
Children’s Education:
Let children explore their own world through different learning activities, it is to foster children’s positive attitude of “Self-respect and respect others, self-love and love others” . For children with special needs, teachers set up a counselling network to assist and provide support or referral to families in need. We provide children with interest learning, such as painting classes, handicraft classes, etc. to expand their diversified learning capabilities. We believe that different learning processes can stimulate children’s motivation for self-improvement. During the activities, children establish goals, challenge themselves, stimulate creativity, strive when encountering setbacks and make appropriate reflection, adjustments and correction under different scenarios. Encouraging children to accept diversified views and opinions, fulfill their own dreams and establish appropriate values and mentality are also what the school cares about.
